Niger Police Arraign 2 For Insulting Assembly Member.




Two persons,  Sulaiman Garba of number seven David Sanda  road opposite PW Chanchaga  and Bashir  Ibrahim of Sabon Daga village of Bosso local government area have been arraigned  before Minna Chief Magistrate Court 1 for criminal charges of intentional insult , character assesination and deformation of character against the Member representing Bosso constuency in the State House of Assembly, Honourable Malik Madaki.


The two persons according to Police report conspired among themselves and insulted the personality of Honourable Malik Madaki by posting a write up on social media platform alleging he Honourable Malik Madaki diverted their constituency funds given to him by the State Government amounting to twenty million naira


They alleged that the constituency fund was diverted by  Honourable Malik Madaki to build a private school at Suleja discribing him as a Professional scammer.


In their write ups  they also alleged that Honourable Malik collected the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira from their Community to provide them a transformer which he failed to provide.


The Prosecutor Inspector of Police Ahmed Saidu says investigation into the matter is still in progress and objected to their  bail saying that if granted they will disrupt Police investigation and prayed court to remind them in Prison.

The Suspect pleaded not guilty when the Charges where read to them.


The Presiding Magistrate Nasiru Muazu who frown on the negative use of social media in the recent time, granted them bail, warned them to desist from such act and adjourned the case till next week.
