The Executive Director Conscience for Human Rights and Conflicts Resolutions, CHRCR Comrade Idris Abdul Miliki has faulted threats placed on him by the Speaker Kogi state House of Assembly Rt Hon. Matthew Kolawole over a purported interview with Daily Trust published on Monday.
In a highly worded statement made available to Journalists in Lokoja on Monday, the Activist disclosed that his opinions in the said interview was misquoted .
He stated that the reporter who had sought his opinions on the presidential ambitions of governor Yahaya Bello also did the same with the speaker , the Chairman Social Democratic Party SDP and publicity Secretary of the PDP , wondering why his comments should draw the ire of the speaker that will warrant threats from the man who is supposed to be the symbol of Democracy in the state.,
According to him” I did not say anything injurious in the reference. It was the caption by the editor, in which he himself was also talked to in the said interview.

” I wish to state for the purpose of record, I have been working in the kogi state House of Assembly for the past 14 years, sponsoring Bills, lobying,, conducting trainings for honorable members and their legislative staff.
” On the said story even before the threats calls came from the speaker, I had invited the daily trust reporter in kogi state to my office to express my reservation on the story which he gave explanation, on certain things that is beyond him.
While situating his comments in Proper perspective that the caption was not a true reflection of his opinions, lamented that all his contributions to the state legislature over the years is for him to receive unsavoury directive to invite him over a purported comments ascribed to him, without due diligence on it.
In his words, ” I want to alert the general public of my ordeal with the kogi state house of Assembly through the Speaker, kogi state house of Assembly.” He informed.
