Covid 19; Niger Govt. Warns Liquor Operators Against Flouting Protocols.
The Niger State Government has warned Liquor Operators in the state to adhere strictly to the laid down protocols for the sale of beers during the period of easing of lockdown to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
The Director of Operations of Niger state Liquor lincence Board, Alhaji Bala Mohammed made the call while speaking with Newsmen on the measures taken by Board to curb spread of COVID 19 in the State.
He said that Beer parlours are places where people from all walk of lives garther to enjoy themselves , hence the pandemic can easily be spread.
Mohammed stated that so far violators of the order in three local government areas namely Mokwa, Chanchaga and Bida have been arrested and prosecuted and their Hotels sealed
He added that liquor licenced vendors in the State are only allowed to sell on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday from twelve o’clock in the afternoon till ten o’clock in the night and should not be located near public schools, Islamic studies centers, churches and mosques.
He warned persons who may like to drink beer during this period of covid 19 pandamic to adhere to the laid down rules to avoid being arrested by law enforcement officers.
