Aggrieved PDP Members Shut down Secretariat in Nasarawa.

 

A group of Peoples Democratic Party  ( PDP) members in Nasarawa State has shut down the state Secretariat barring officials of the party access to their offices.

 

The group who stormed the PDP Secretariat along Jos road Lafia the Nasarawa State capital locked the main gate of the building and stopped anyone from entering.

One of the members of the PDP, Mr Adams Musa said their action was to prevent the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the Party in the state Mr Francis Orogu from addressing the press on a state High Court judgment presided over by Justice Mustapha Ramat in Akwanga Nasarawa State which had nullified the Ward and Local Government Congresses recently held in the state.

The protesting PDP members drove out Journalists who were at the Secretariat waiting for the arrival of the state party chairman and other officials to address the press.

 

The state PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman Mr Francis Orogu who later addressed the press at his private resident said they would appeal the judgment  and insisted that he remains the Caretaker Committee Chairman of PDP in Nasarawa State as directed by the national Secretariat of the party.

 

 

Meanwhile, security personnel have been deployed to the area to curtail further  breakdown of law and order.
