Governor Bello tasks kogi indigenes on selfless service takes oath of office .

Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has challenged the people of kogi state to shelve their political , religion and ethnic differences and join hands with his administration to rescue the state from underdevelopment and poverty confronting the state.

Governor Bello gave the challenge on Monday in Lokoja shortly after the governor and his deputy Chief Daivd Onoja, took the oath of office administered by the state chief Judge Justice Nasiru Ajanah as the 4th executive governor of the state.
He expressed confidence that his second term will revitalise and rejig the governance architecture for efficient and effective service delivery that will launch the state on the top of the states in the country.
"My primary allegiance as governor will remain to Kogi state and her citizens, not to party or tribe. Every one is my citizen and I owe every one the protections and fidelities inherent in the office.

"It is on this note that I enjoined all kogites to look forward to the next four years with optimism and great expectation . We will do everything in our power as government to make sure that the state is productive , prosperous and peaceful" he said

," This second tenure , emphasis will be on agriculture for improved food security , mass employment and increase in Internally Generated Revenue . Agricultural revolution which he has kick started in the first term would be taking to the next level of development.

"Specifically, rice, cassava , cashew , aquaculture and livestock will remain the bed rock of our activities in the agricultural sector .

"Outside of agriculture , we are also going to pay greater attention to human capital development by investing more in training our people for enhanced relevance in a technologically evolving future.

"We will embark on large scale urban renewal projects that would further transform Lokoja into a resilient capital city with modern utilities attractive to tourists" he noted.
Meanwhile , the governor has appointed sixteen commissioners nominees which include ; Mohammed Sani, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, Abubakar Ohere, David Apeh, Joseph Baron Okwoli ,Ejigbo, Idris Musa, Wemi Jones, Fanwo Kingsley, Isah Idachaba, Ozigi deedat, Abdulminu sadiq, Saka Audu, Adewale Victor Omofaiye, Fatima Buba, Gabriel Olofu while Dr Mrs Ayoade Arike SSG, Asuku Jamiu Chief of Staff, Sunday Faleke, DCOS were reinstated.
Among the APC governors that attended the occasion are the Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi ,the Chairman Nigeria Governor’s Forum,Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagaudu, Chairman APC governors Forum, Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong, Chairman Northern Governors forum.
