The Chairman of the kogi state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ) Comrade Adeiza Momohjimoh has admonished couples to always remember the love they exhibited on their first date and maintain tolerance and forgiveness to making their homes worthy of emulation.
The Chairman gave the admonition Saturday at the wedding solemnisation between Titilayo Montunrayo Obahopo and her heartthrob Taiye Solomon Balogun held at the New layout branch , near Liberty Hotel of the The Apostolic Church , Lokoja.
He noted that marriage was meant to be enjoyed and not to be endured if these measures are strictly adhered to , advising them to have in mind that marriage is not totally a bed of roses.
Comrade Adeiza advise the bride , who is a junior sister of the Vanguard correspondent Bolu Obahopo that the business of making marriage to work rest mostly on the character and attitude of the woman.
He urged her to avoid the interference of the third party in her home and to making tolerance, humility and forgiveness to be her guiding principles.
He prayed to God to grant them the fruits of the womb at appropriate time , prosperity, good health and longevity.
Meanwhile , the officiating pastor, drawing his message from Genesis 2 verse 18 ,which says " it is not good for a man to be alone and he made a helper fit for him" saying the marriage institution was ordained by God Almighty.
He said for the purpose of the marriage to be met, the couples have to actively and consciously participate with all their senses to making their home a model.
According to him" As human beings, with flesh and blood flowing through our veins, we cannot do anything on our own , except we decide to invite Jesus Christ into the home.
"When you make Jesus Christ the Foundation and bedrock of the relationship, when storms occurred, it will not be shaken. I therefore implore every one here including myself to making Jesus Christ the essence of the marriage and it is then that the home will be the like the heaven on earth." He sermonised.
